Corridors are what the guest walks down to get to the room you just refurbished.
We work alongside your contractors and suppliers. We survey, we audit, and we write down what is still outstanding. Corridors are often the biggest single item on that list.
The area that gets value-engineered out first
Your corridors came out when the price came back. They usually do. The bedrooms are the product, so they stay in; the corridor looks like something that can wait. Then the new bedroom sits at the end of an old corridor, and the corridor is the first thing every guest sees.
Carpet, wall protection and lighting
Corridor carpet. Wall protection at trolley height. Lighting that shows the doors and the room numbers. Decoration, door furniture and room signage. The things guests notice in the first ten seconds after the lift doors open.
Keeping a corridor open while we work in it
We work in sections, keep a clear route past the work at all times, and do the noisy parts in the hours you agree. Carpet goes down in lengths that can be walked on the same day.
Lift lobbies and stairs
Lift lobbies, landings and guest stairs get the same finish as the corridors, so the route from reception to the room feels like one building rather than three refurbishments.
Standards we work to
Approved Document B and the hotel's fire strategy for compartmentation, fire-stopping and the reaction-to-fire class of carpets and wallcoverings, and the brand standards for lighting, finishes and signage. Wherever services pass through a fire-resisting wall or ceiling, the penetration is sealed and recorded.
What you receive
A corridor-by-corridor scope, a working-hours plan that keeps noisy work out of guest hours, agreed dust and noise controls, and a photographic record of every fire-stopping detail closed up behind finishes.
Matching what the bedrooms already got
We work from the bedroom specification, so the corridor matches the room it leads to. Read about bedroom finishes, or about working while you keep trading.
Ask what your corridors would cost to finish. Trading through it or closed for works, the choice is yours. See all our service lines, book the gap report, or call us.
